The founding site of Peoples Pubs is the Robin Hood (it was already called the Robin Hood for those of you who were wondering!) in Brighton. We acquired the site in early May 2004, spent three weeks on a major refurbishment and reopened on May 28th. The pub has been transformed from a run down and tired site into the blueprint of what we hope all Peoples Pubs will be. Warm, comfortable and inviting, The Robin Hood has succeeded beyond our expectations. With a Pizza oven behind the bar, free internet access with wireless for those with laptops, quality products and friendly staff, it has found its niche in the highly competitive market place of Brighton. We’ll even charge your mobile phone for you!
Whilst at present our home is in Brighton, we do not intend to limit ourselves to this area alone. The beauty of the Peoples Pubs idea is that it can work anywhere. As we expand, each site will be a stand-alone site with management teams that understand their market place. In other words, each pub will have its own identity but with our core values at its centre. We are currently searching for our next site and hope to secure at least five sites by October 2005.
